Heyy!!!
My name is Jennie Rocks, most of my friends know me as Jennie Bean! I am a 39 year old woman from Kelowna, BC. Mother of a 4th year university student (Ciera), partner in crime (Kaz) and animal mom to two cats (Nacho & Cheeeze), a chihuahua (Baxter) and a husky (Xena). My family is everything to me.
I grew up in the Okanagan, my early childhood was spent in a home with not a lot of money. We were on welfare, eating from the food bank. My mother was severely overweight and didn't promote the healthiest lifestyle. I played sports, but by the time highschool came I was worried more about my friends and partying. This lead to me losing scholarships and dropping out of highschool just before graduation, killing all my future dreams.

My daughter was born in October of 2004, she saved my life and gave me new focus. I immediately went to school to become a health care assistant, which I still do part time to this day as it is unbelievably rearding and I appreciate being able to help where I can. I have been employed by our public health service since 2007. Unfortunately, shift work isn't where my heart was and in 2010 I started looking for something new to support myself and my daughter.
In 2015 I hit the heaviest weight I had ever been. I suffered from chronic pain and multiple degenerative conditions. Immediately I knew I had to make a change. I switched up my nutrition, which truly wasn't good, and started light at-home workouts. I documented everything on IG. I lost 50lbs and started going to a gym, knowing absolutely nothing about purposeful training. Yet, I built health habits and changed my mindset. People started asking me for tips!
It was at that time that I decided to certify in nutrition. Your dietary intake in the single most important thing that you have control of constantly, and having gone from obese to lean without incorporating a lot of purposeful exercise I understood the diffiulties in creating that change!
A year after being a part of All Out Fitness, a trainer there was moving to another gym and looking for people to complete certification to coach group fitness classes. I jumped on board! This was my calling to transition to a new line of work!
Once I completed that certification, All Out Fitness, where I had just joined not even a year prior, hired me as a coach. I remember how insecure I felt. A lot of the members where in much better shape than I was. The intimidation factor was REAL!

I started my first business WHOLEistic Nutrition & Fitness during my first year in nutrition school. I was eager and ready to help everyone who needed it! The problem was, I had no personal connection to WHOLEistic Nutrition. The name, the lack of niche, always seemed empty and I felt disassociated with the buisness itself. I did meet some amazing clients and have a lot of great experience in the 2 years with that business, but I spent a lot of time trying to find my niche and then my rebranding came! I was extremely successful within my first two years, and now that I've found my groove I can't even imagine the momentum that will build in the next future!
After a couple of sleepless nights late in December TONE Wellness was born! TONE Wellness not only brings together all the aspects of what my practice incorporates, but music has always been a HUGE part of my life. Hence TONE (acronym for Thought, Organization, Nutrition, Exercise). With the aspects I'm including in TONE Wellness and the amount that music has influenced my life, I feel a deep connection with TONE and am excited about the future of this endeavour!
